Poor indoor air quality in the workplace is often a major factor of worker comfort and satisfaction. Many scientific studies have demonstrated that improving indoor air quality not only improves health and comfort, but also significantly increases worker productivity while decreasing absenteeism.

Traditional IAQ audits use hand held instrumentation to record their data; however, this technique only provides one piece of the puzzle and is no more than a snap shot of the conditions in a particular area at a specific time.

Buildings are complex and dynamic, meaning conditions are always changing. For example, the lunchroom will have different conditions at 4 a.m. when no one is there than it will at noon.

Assurance Environmental conducts indoor air quality audits using a continuous gas data logging system that simultaneously monitors indoor air quality parameters such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) temperature, relative humidity, dust and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).

Air quality issues may arise from a variety of sources and conditions including:

Insufficient ventilation
Poorly maintained or unbalanced mechanical system
Number of people in an occupied space
Dust and outside air pollutants entering the building
